Buttock Augmentation Houston
One of the most difficult areas of the body to properly condition, shape, and contour are the buttocks. Maintaining elegant curves and achieving a well-balanced physique can be challenging even with intensive exercise and a strict diet. Buttock implants offer a reliable solution to lift, enhance, enlarge, and contour your buttocks with excellent results. The implants feel similar to toned muscle and are made of a safe, solid silicone. Ideal candidates for the procedure should be at least 18 years of age or older, in good physical and psychological health, and have realistic expectations about the results.
An attractive buttock has a smooth upward sweep at the lumbosacral area and at the waist. The intergluteal buttock cleft separates above and below with the maximum prominence in the mid to upper buttock. The greatest fullness is at the junction of the central and middle folds. The infragluteal crease or lower horizontal buttock fold is very short with no drooping below this line.
Buttock augmentation is performed either by fat injection with donor sites from the abdomen, hips, thigh, and knee where there is an excess of fat or by silicone buttock augmentation. Unfortunately, there may be a limited amount of fat available for transfer in thin individuals. Also, the fat which is transferred undergoes a variable amount of resorption up to 40%. The fat, which is harvested, is injected as a paste after centrifugation removing the blood and serum.
Silicone implantation buttock augmentation has been more popular in South and Central America where it was originally developed. A small incision is made in the intergluteal buttock cleft, and the implant is placed either within the buttock musculature or beneath the fascia which is a connective tissue covering the muscle. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia with a 1-night stay in the hospital. A drain is placed for 1-2 weeks postoperatively at the time of the surgery to reduce fluid accumulation (seroma) about the implant. There is no sitting for 1 week. We ask the patients to support themselves with their hands and arms when using the toilet.
Fat can be injected as a first surgery. If the degree of augmentation is insufficient or unsatisfactory for the patient, a silicone implant can be inserted at a later date. However, fat cannot be injected once the silicone implant has been previously inserted.
