Pectoral Implants in Houston
While breast surgery for women has been popular for sometime, male chest enhancement has recently started catching on in the form of pectoral implants. In Houston, Texas, Dr. Michael Eisemann offers pectoral implants as an option to men who find it increasingly difficult to build pectoral mass and definition through exercise. Some body types develop muscle tone and definition in their chest more easily than others. Even after rigorous exercise, some men will never develop the pectoral muscles they desire because of their natural genetic predisposition. Don’t let this keep you from the chiseled chest you have always wanted. While pectoral implants do not necessarily increase muscle definition in the chest (rigorous exercise will usually improve this), pectoral implants do increase mass and improve the shape of your chest, possibly improving your appearance and self confidence.
The solid silicone pectoral implants used in surgery come in varying shapes and sizes in order to create the most natural looking results. Through extensive consultation with Dr. Eisemann you will choose sizes and shapes for your pectoral implants that fit naturally with the existing contours and muscles in your chest. Sometimes liposuction can be combined with the pectoral implant surgery in order to create optimal results. This is recommended if there is excessive fat in the chest area that should be removed before the pectoral implants are inserted. In combining liposuction with pectoral implants in Houston’s Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center, you can maximize chest definition while minimizing surgery and recovery time.
Pectoral implants are performed under general anesthesia and on an outpatient basis. The amount of pain involved with pectoral implants varies from patient to patient, depending on which procedure is used. Dr. Eisemann often performs pectoral implant surgery endoscopically by making small incisions in the armpits through which the pectoral implants are inserted using a thin tube with a small camera attached to the end. This endoscopic surgery reduces bleeding, bruising and incision size. However, depending on the patient and the desired results, Dr. Eisemann sometimes prefers non-endoscopic methods to achieve maximized results.
While surgery usually takes one to two hours, full recovery from pectoral implants can take anywhere from four to six weeks. Patients usually experience soreness, bruising and mild to moderate pain in the first few days following pectoral implants, but after the first week these symptoms should begin to fade. While some pain medication may be prescribed, avoid taking aspirin as it may increase bruising and promote bleeding. Within two weeks of your pectoral implant procedure, most patients resume normal non-strenuous activities.
In some cases, an undeveloped chest is the result of genetics, and in others it can be the result of a birth defect or an injury. If this sounds familiar, pectoral implants may create the natural looking chest that you’re probably looking for. Or perhaps you have spent a lifetime working out to improve your chest with little to know results. You are not alone, as this is very common. The Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center offers pectoral implants in Houston that may restore the confidence and self image you’ve sought for so long.
