Rhinoplasty in Houston
Individuals seeking rhinoplasty in Houston may visit the practice of Dr. Michael Eisemann, whether for subtle or dramatic improvements. By performing nose surgery ("rhinoplasty"), he is able to create a nose that complements and contributes to their overall facial balance.
Nasal Reduction and Reshaping
Dr. Eisemann can enhance the nasal structure aesthetically, as well as functionally, when performing rhinoplasty. He can improve breathing, correct congenital or acquired deformities, change the size and/or shape of the nose, or repair nasal injuries. It is important that candidates who undergo nose surgery are fully matured - girls 14 to 15 years of age and boys from 16 to 17 years old. Additionally, rhinoplasty patients should be in good physical and physiological health, and have realistic expectations.
During nose surgery, Dr. Eisemann can create a more defined nasal appearance by reshaping the tip of the nose, widening or narrowing the nostrils, altering the angle between the nose and lip, and/or shaving humps or bumps on the bridge of the nose. He can also straighten a deviated septum, which typically causes obstructions in breathing. After a careful examination of the patient's goals and facial anatomy, Dr. Eisemann will determine the surgery plan that will create the most natural-looking results.
Following rhinoplasty, patients may experience swelling and bruising around the eyes, small amounts of bleeding, puffiness, and an achy feeling. A nose splint will be used to stabilize the new contours, which is worn for approximately one week. If the patient experiences more than normal bleeding during surgery, nasal packs may be placed inside the nostrils, which is typically removed 24 hours after the procedure. In order to prevent complications and risks, pre- and post-surgery instructions should be properly followed.
Dr. Eisemann will provide further information regarding nasal reconstruction during an initial consultation. If necessary, complementary procedures, such as facelift surgery ("rhytidectomy") or eyelid surgery ("blepharoplasty"), may also be discussed.
A triple board certified plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Eisemann is highly qualified to help interested candidates achieve a more enhanced nasal appearance with rhinoplasty.
