Dr. Eisemann performs facial feminization, breast augmentation, and laser hair removal procedures for transgender women in order to help them achieve their body feminization goals.
Facial feminization may include rhinoplasty and laryngochondroplasty (tracheal shave), facelift, eyelid and browlift surgery as well as chin and cheek implants and lip augmentation. One of Dr. Eisemann's Board Certifications is Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat), which makes him uniquely qualified to perform nasal surgery, both functionally (Septoplasty) and cosmetically (Rhinoplasty). Rhinoplasty is the enhancement and reshaping of the nose with the goal of making the overall size and shape of the nose more feminine. Laryngochondroplasty (aka Adam's Apple Reduction) benefits the patient by providing a more feminine appearance of the neck.
Breast augmentation is one of the most common procedures performed at the Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center in Houston, Texas. Some transgender women feel that the breast growth resulting from their hormone treatments is insufficient and that their breasts are too small for their bodies. Breast augmentation is designed to enlarge the size and fullness of the breasts. The implants used by Dr. Eisemann are comprised of solid silicone shells that are filled with either saline or soft silicone gel. Implants are available in many sizes, shapes, profiles and textures. This variety allows Dr. Eisemann to achieve the most desirable breast augmentation results for different types of body shapes. During the initial consultation, Dr. Eisemann takes measurements of the chest and will discuss the available options, including type of implant, shape and size. He will help the patient choose the breast implant that will most suit their body type and that will allow for the most natural and aesthetically pleasing results. Although hormone use is not required, the WPATH Standards of Care recommend that transgender women undergo hormone treatment for at least one year before having breast augmentation surgery in order to obtain better surgical results. Other common procedures performed are body contouring and buttock augmentation.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SURGERY Patients must be at least 18 years old.
Dr. Eisemann follows the latest version of the WPATH Standards of Care that state, "Surgical treatments for gender dysphoria can be initiated with a referral ... from a qualified mental health professional. The mental health professional provides documentation — in the chart and/or referral letter — of the patient's personal and treatment history, progress, and eligibility. ... One referral from a qualified mental health professional is needed for breast surgery."
The Standards of Care also state that the letter should include the following components:
1.    The client's general identifying characteristics;
2.    Results of the client's psychosocial assessment, including any diagnoses;
3.    The duration of the mental health professional's relationship with the client, including the type of evaluation and therapy or counseling to date;
4.    An explanation that the criteria for surgery have been met, and a brief description of the clinical rationale for supporting the patient's request for surgery;
5.    A statement about the fact that informed consent has been obtained from the patient;
6.    A statement that the mental health professional is available for coordination of care and welcomes a phone call to establish this.
