Neck Contouring Procedures – Part 3
Submentoplasty addresses improving the appearance of the neck by tightening the skin. The submentoplasty procedure involves making a small “T” incision just under the chin, and is referred to by some plastic surgeons as a “mini neck lift.” Once the T incision is made, excess fat and skin is removed to re-drape the skin on the neck. It is important that patients seeking neck contouring understand that this procedure is not for everyone. The ideal candidate is between their late 30’s and can be up to the 1970’s. Additionally, a good candidate should not have jowls, not have an obese neck, and have good underlying facial bone structure. Even though there is a tremendous amount of information on the Internet concerning plastic surgery procedures, it is difficult for a patient to know what they need. That is why it is not only important to educate oneself from quality sources, but also to schedule a consultation with Dr. Michael Eisemann of the Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Eisemann has practiced plastic surgery for well over 30 years.
