What Is Hand Rejuvenation?

Hand rejuvenation is a highly customizable procedure that uses multiple surgical techniques to address signs of aging in the back of the hands. At Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center, we focus on fat grafting and body-safe fillers to improve the appearance of your hands as you age. Our hand rejuvenation can be used to address the following:

  • Lost volume
  • Loose skin
  • Thinning skin
  • Overly visible veins, tendons, or bones

Depending on your aesthetic goals, we can also include non-surgical skin treatments, such as laser resurfacing and radiofrequency energy, to address irregularities in skin tone and texture.

Pricing Your Procedure

The cost of your hand rejuvenation in Houston will depend on the following factors:

  • Whether one or both hands will be treated
  • Non-surgical skin treatments included in your care plan
  • Techniques used
  • Whether additional procedures will be completed in the same session

After your initial consultation, our team will provide you with a detailed cost estimate and financing options for full transparency.

What to Expect From Your Hand Rejuvenation in Houston

Your hand rejuvenation will be performed in a private treatment room at our QUAD A-accredited surgical center in Houston. Depending on your care plan, you’ll either receive a topical anesthetic for comfort during filler injections or IV sedation to prevent pain during liposuction for fat grafting. Most non-surgical skin treatments only require a topical numbing cream.

For dermal fillers, Dr. Eisemann will carefully inject your chosen filler into the skin in small quantities, ensuring subtle volume restoration without overly plump results. Fat grafting begins with targeted liposuction to harvest fat cells from another area of your body, which are then purified and injected back into the skin.

Patient-First Recovery With Minimal Downtime

Recovery after hand rejuvenation in Houston is typically brief, with most patients experiencing mild swelling, redness, and light bruising for up to one week. Depending on your needs, we may provide specialized wraps or gloves to reduce swelling after fat grafting and help your fat cells settle into their new position.

Most patients return to normal activities, including social gatherings, desk work, and light movement, within a few days. Depending on your career, you may need a few additional days of rest to allow initial swelling to fade before returning to work. You’ll need to avoid strenuous activity, including weight lifting and grip-strength exercises, for at least two weeks to allow your hands to fully heal.

Your Post-Op Process

After your procedure, we’ll share a customized recovery plan tailored to your unique needs. This plan may include the following items:

  • Injection or incision site care and cleaning protocols
  • Wrap or glove-wearing guidance
  • Sun protection and exposure guidelines
  • Hygiene recommendations
  • Activity limitations
  • Swelling and pain management strategies

Most patients will return to our Houston office for a short follow-up appointment within two weeks of their procedure. There, we’ll monitor your healing progress, remove any remaining sutures from your liposuction, and approve you to resume strenuous exercise.

Completing Your Transformation

For many patients, hand rejuvenation is just one part of an overarching body refresh plan.

Complementary procedures include the following:

  • Arm lift
  • Brow lift
  • Facial fat grafting
  • Non-surgical facial skin treatments

Hand Rejuvenation Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my results last?

The longevity of your results will depend on your specific treatment plan. Dermal fillers are temporary and typically last 12-18 months before needing maintenance treatments. Fat grafting is considered permanent, though some patients undergo additional grafts years later for additional volume.

Is hand rejuvenation painful?

No. We use a variety of anesthesia methods to prevent pain for our Houston patients during and directly after treatment, including topical numbing creams and IV sedation. We’ll provide you with pain management recommendations for your at-home recovery.

Can hand rejuvenation reduce the appearance of prominent veins?

Yes. By restoring volume to the back of the hands, we can add a soft layer over your underlying structures, creating a smoother outward appearance. This helps prominent veins and tendons appear less pronounced and sculpts a softer, more supple surface.
