What Is a Breast Augmentation?

A breast augmentation, also called an augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure that enhances the appearance of the breasts through implants or a natural fat transfer. Breast augmentations can restore lost volume after pregnancy or weight loss, correct asymmetry, or improve breast shape. Every woman is different, so we’ll build a customized surgical plan to address your exact concerns. We offer the following implants for you to choose from:

  • Silicone Implants: Often referred to as “gummy bear” implants, silicone implants offer a weight, bounce, and softness that closely mimic natural breast tissue and have a lower risk of rippling.
  • Saline Implants: Saline implants are inserted while empty and filled with a saline solution while in the body, offering maximum flexibility for the patient.
  • Anatomic Implants: These implants have a teardrop shape and a unique texture that helps them remain in the correct position and orientation on the chest.

Pricing Your Procedure

The cost of a breast augmentation in Houston is typically $4,000, but can range based on the following factors:

  • Type of implant
  • Surgical complexity
  • Whether other procedures will be performed in the same session

After your initial consultation, our team will share a detailed cost estimate and financing options for full transparency.

What to Expect From Your Breast Augmentation in Houston

We perform breast augmentations on an outpatient basis at our QUAD A-accredited surgical center in Houston. Your procedure will be performed under our signature IV sedation with nerve block, and you’ll rest in a private recovery suite after surgery.

To begin your procedure, Dr. Eisemann will make incisions under the breasts, around the areola, in the armpit, or through the belly button to access your breast tissue. Your implants will be placed either above or below the chest muscles in a natural-looking position on the chest. All incisions will be closed with small sutures to promote smooth, consistent healing.

Patient-First Recovery

Recovery after a breast augmentation typically involves swelling, soreness, bruising, and tightness in the chest for up to two weeks. Our team will provide you with a supportive surgical bra to help reduce swelling and encourage your breast tissue to settle properly.

Most patients can resume normal activities, including social gatherings, desk work, and gentle movement, within two weeks. You’ll need to avoid strenuous exercise for at least eight weeks to allow your body to fully heal.

Your Personalized Post-Op Process

After your procedure, Dr. Eisemann will share a customized recovery plan tailored to your body’s unique needs. This plan may include the following items:

  • Incision site care and cleaning protocols
  • Supportive garment guidance
  • Recovery clothing options
  • Hygiene recommendations
  • Activity limitations
  • Sleep position restrictions
  • Swelling and pain management strategies
  • Side effects to monitor

Over the coming weeks, you’ll return to our Houston office for regular follow-up appointments with Dr. Eisemann. There, he’ll check your healing progress, remove any remaining sutures, and clear you to resume high-impact activities, such as running, lifting your children, and intense exercise.

Types of Breast Augmentations

At Eisemann Plastic Surgery Center, we offer the following options for your breast surgery in Houston:

Implant-Based Augmentation

This technique uses saline or silicone implants to enhance the volume, size, and shape of the breasts, and requires extensive incisions along the chest.

Fat Transfer Augmentation

Here, Dr. Eisemann will use liposuction to extract and purify fat cells from your body, then carefully reinject them into the breasts, creating a softer, more subtle augmentation.

Augmentation with Lift

This method combines breast augmentation with a breast lift, elevating the breast position while improving volume and size.

Completing Your Transformation

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular procedures at Eisemann, and many of our Houston patients combine their augmentation with other surgeries for a more comprehensive rejuvenation.

Complementary procedures include the following:

Breast Augmentation Frequently Asked Questions

Will a future pregnancy affect my results?

The hormone changes and weight fluctuations associated with pregnancy, nursing, and childbirth may impact your long-term results. We recommend waiting until you are finished having children to pursue a breast augmentation. Discuss your family planning options with Dr. Eisemann during your consultation to ensure you’re on the right timeline.

How long will my breast implants last?

Breast implants are designed to remain in the body for 10-15 years before considering replacement, revision, or removal. We use FDA-approved saline and silicone implants with strong, proven safety records. Regular check-ups help ensure the long-term health of your implants.

What are the risks involved with a breast augmentation?

As with all surgical procedures, breast augmentations come with certain risks, including implant rupture, malpositioning, and deflation. During your initial consultation, Dr. Eisemann will walk you through all potential complications to ensure you’re fully informed and confident in your choice.
