Recovery Tailored to You
Recovery after a rhinoplasty in Houston typically involves swelling, bruising, and tenderness around the nose and eyes for approximately two weeks. You may experience headaches or temporary numbness around the nose and lips, both of which are normal parts of healing. We’ll place a splint on your nose to prevent irritation and support your healing tissues during early recovery.
Most patients resume light movement in a few days, but wait to return to work and social gatherings until their bruising has fully faded. You’ll need to avoid strenuous activity for up to six weeks to allow ample time for healing.
Your Post-Op Process
After your procedure, you’ll receive a customized recovery plan from Dr. Eisemann. This plan may include the following items:
- Incision site care and cleaning protocols
- Splint-wearing guidance
- Recovery clothing options
- Hygiene recommendations
- Activity limitations
- Sleep position restrictions
- Side effects to monitor
- Swelling and pain management strategies
Over the coming months, you’ll return to our Houston office for several follow-up visits with Dr. Eisemann. There, he’ll remove any remaining sutures, monitor your healing progress, and approve you to resume high-impact activities, such as intense exercise and contact sports.
